Gibbon Bridge Wedding Photographer

Heather & Chris booked me to be their Gibbon Bridge Wedding Photographer around six months before their big day, at a wedding fair organised by Little White Books. Their wedding, during the August Bank Holiday was probably the hottest day of the year. And I mean HOT! Their booking was for me to be their Gibbon Bridge Wedding Photographer from before the ceremony to the end of speeches, and to capture the wedding in a slightly more ‘traditional’ way than pure documentary. No problem! Theirs was to be my second wedding at Gibbon Bridge, plus I’d photographed room interiors for Little White Books magazine previously, so knew the venue layout well. As a Gibbon Bridge Wedding Photographer, you get the choice (well, the clients do!) of an outdoor ceremony under the large pagoda in the gardens, or in the gorgeous ceremony room. Either way us photographers have great light to work with.

St Ambrose Church, Grindleton

Heather & Chris had opted for a church wedding though for this Gibbon Bridge Wedding Photographer, at their local village. St Ambrose Church is in the centre of Grindleton - a charming Lancashire village, with a stunning view of Pendle Hill. The plan was to be married in church, then spend an hour or so (yes, in that heat!) in the field next to the church, where guests could relax and chat with drinks from a trestle table. Very country village! The Rector at St Ambrose was Mark Williams, a lovely guy, and the second time I’d worked with him. The first was at a church in Worsley. So…the church was called St Mark’s, the vicar was Mark, the groom was call Mark, and the Best Man, erm……Mark. You can their see their Mitton Hall wedding here Mark was also a guest at the wedding too, with his partner for some well-earned Pimms in the afternoon.

Natural wedding photography at Gibbon Bridge

After the sunburn had kicked in from the drinks reception at St Ambrose, we made our way to Gibbon Bridge for the wedding breakfast and speeches, allowing me to photograph a few candids and room details as Heather & Chris Gibbon Bridge Wedding Photographer. The speeches were brilliant - funny (risqué), heartfelt and emotional. Chris stole the show with his one-liners and made a few people blush and double-take as he ‘went for it’. I captured some great reactions during the speeches as their Gibbon Bridge Wedding Photographer. So, all in all a natural, authentic but slightly traditional wedding collection for my clients for the time I spent with them as their Gibbon Bridge Wedding Photographer.

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day…
