Mitton Hall Wedding Venue

Mitton Hall is one of THE most popular wedding venues in Lancashire. And it’s easy to see why. As one of the six James Places wedding venues, Mitton Hall is absolutely stunning, offering a great mix of traditional style, blended with contemporary features. As a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer, this venue is easily in our top five venues to photograph. I am an experienced Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer, and have photographed several weddings here over the years, in every season too. You can see more of my Mitton Hall Wedding Photography here.

Mitton Hall describes itself as…

“A 15th Century manor house standing high on the bank of the River Ribble, in the tiny hamlet of Mitton near the lovely village of Whalley. Rescued from obscurity in 2007 and restored and reimagined as a contemporary country house hotel and simply stunning wedding venue. The elevated terraces overlook the gardens and grounds to the river below and across to the church beyond, even 550 years ago the owners knew it was all about location, location, location.

On the banks of the river that gives its name to the Ribble Valley, stands the stunning manor house that is Mitton Hall. Effortlessly beautiful and unashamedly romantic, the ancient external architecture is enhanced by inspired contemporary interior design to create a venue that is unrivalled and unique. With a fabulous Party Room flooded with natural light, stunning gardens and an outdoor terrace, Mitton Hall truly is the ultimate dream wedding venue”.

Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer

Mel & Mark booked me to be their Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer over a quick meeting in Worsley. We hit it off straight away and knew we’d be good for each other. It’s actually very important that client and photographer gel from the word go, otherwise the day wouldn’t be relaxed and natural…more strained and horrid for all! I was really looking forward to being their Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer…it was going to be a blast! I went to Mel’s parents’ home for the morning bridal preparations. I walked into what I can only describe as an alcohol-free party! The music was on, the girls were all giggling and excited, while dad quietly hid out of the way, checking his speech was good. Dads tend to stay out of the way with all this organised chaos going on! The weather was beautiful too, so everything was already proving to be a brilliant day to be a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer.

Weddings at St Mark’s Church Worsley

Mel & Mark were to be married at St Mark’s Church in Worsley. I arrived at church in good time, having photographed Mel putting her dress on, and the emotional bridesmaids and dad seeing her dressed as a stunning bride to be. Mark had already arrived, greeting guests as they too arrived for this special day. I had a brief chat with then Vicar about any specific rules and he was really cool about what I could photographed. Thank you Mark! Funny thing was….we were having a church ceremony at St Mark’s, the Vicar was called Mark…the Groom was called Mark, as was Best Man. I broke the chain by being called Mick. Ah well…all fun and games for this Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer!

As Mel arrived with her dad, and walked down the aisle, this wasn’t work, this was a joy to be part of their special day. The light in church was awesome, and I captured some great legacy photos for them as their Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer. After the ceremony, Mel and Mark had a quiet moment away from the wedding guests and went behind the church to put a name place on Mark’s mum’s grave. A very emotional moment, and one I quietly captured for them as their Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer (they asked me to). After there funny moments with Mel and her veil battling with the breeze for the family group photos, we made our way to Mitton Hall, for stage three of my being a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer.

Mitton Hall Wedding in Summer

When we arrived at Mitton Hall, the wedding guests slowly made their way to the rear terrace for drinks and canapés . Amongst capturing some great candid shots, Mel, Mark and I spent around fifteen minutes in the rear gardens for some natural couple photos, with me as their Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer. Then it was back up to the terrace to ‘kiss a thousand cheeks’ (them, not me!) A Mitton Hall wedding in the summer is gorgeous with the River Ribble sparkling away in the sunlight over the rear lawn. Everything was going well so far as a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer. Soon we were inside to the stunningly dressed conservatory for the wedding breakfast and speeches. The light was still gorgeous so the newlyweds and myself spent a couple of minutes taking some photos outside the front of the Hall, while the guests took their seats. This Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer was looking forward to a well-earned pint (of ice water!) while the wedding breakfast was being served.

The Famous Mitton Hall Chandelier

When working as a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer, one shot which is de rigour is the famous Mitton Hall chandelier shot. However it’s approached, (and I do approach it differently every time if possible) this shot is a must-have for my clients. The chandelier is such a famous ‘landmark’ in the world of Lancashire Wedding Photography, and especially for any Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer.

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day…
