Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer - Samantha & Dylan

Highlights from Samantha & Dylan’s brilliant wedding at this stunning Lancashire wedding venue

“Sorry it’s a bit late, but Oh My Days they are unreal!!!

Thank you so so much, you’ve got me crying all over again.”

Hobbit Hill Wedding Venue

Samantha & Dylan booked me as their Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer to capture their wedding after meeting me at a wedding fair organised by Little White Books. The wedding fair was actually at Hobbit Hill too. Hobbit Hill Wedding Venue is a stunning choice of venue, bringing the best of barn weddings, together with the great outdoors feel of a full-on woodland wedding….perfect for couples looking for something a little different. You can be married in the Ceremony Room inside the main barn or outside in the woods, the choice is yours, and perfect for your Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer. I have worked here before, as a Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer, shooting a lovely styled shoot for Hobbit Hill and Little White Books magazine.

Here’s one from the shoot…yes, it was pouring down at the time, but we had a deadline to work to! You can only tell if you look carefully though…click the image to read more…

Hobbit Hill describes itself as…

“With stunning views overlooking the River Ribble and beyond, Hobbit Hill offers the perfect wedding venue.

Our Wedding Barn, seats up to 130 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 200 guests for your evening celebration. Tie the knot in our gorgeous fairy-lit Round Wood or indoors in the beautiful Ceremony Room. Prepare for your big day with your bridal party in the luxury of The Shire, and retire to its beautiful bridal suite at the end of the perfect day.

Take advantage of our quaint cosy cabins and luxury lodge for your family and friends, giving you exclusive use of the whole site, all with breathtaking wide-open views across the Ribble Valley –  a peaceful sanctuary, surrounded by the natural beauty of Hobbit Hill…”

If you love the idea of an outdoor wedding in the forest , you’ll love Hobbit Hill

Summer Weddings at Hobbit Hill

Samantha & Dylan were around 100m apart on the morning of their wedding. Dylan was in the hut nearest to the venue, whilst Samantha was away from view in a distant location. As their Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer, I was on site nice and early, to capture both parties getting ready. Dylan and Best Man Zak took around fifteen minutes, The girls however… 😁

Summer weddings at Hobbit Hill are fantastic. The woodland area is simply stunning for your Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer. Samantha and Dylan however opted to play things safe as the day was very windy - really windy in fact, so they were married in the Ceremony Room. I didn’t blame them either. As their Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer, I jumped between the two huts, capturing the start to the day - all the laughs, the emotion (and Prosecco!) that a wedding morning brings a Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer. We were keeping the woodland for later, for our couples photos.

Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer

This was to be my first time as a Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer, and I was loving it. Everything has easy access, allowing me to literally be in two places at once - well, you know what I mean! I wanted to capture my clients’ day as naturally as possible - no gimmicks, no heart-shaped group photos from this Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer! Just natural, mostly unposed wedding photography…as it should be.

Wedding Fair at Hobbit Hill

As I mentioned, I met Samantha & Dylan at a wedding fair at Hobbit Hill, about a year before they were married. We got on very well from the off, and the couple more or less booked me on the spot as their Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer to be. I love doing a few wedding fairs throughout the year, and virtually always with little white books. Though sometimes a venue will organise their own ‘neutral’ version with I sometimes get invited too, especially as a recommended supplier as I am to around four venues at the moment. But this lovely Sunday added a stunning wedding to my 2023 diary as a Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer….and what a day it was.

Natural wedding photography at Hobbit Hill

I really enjoyed my day producing natural wedding photography at Hobbit Hill. My brief was just to let the day flow and ‘do my thing’. I travel light these days at weddings, using two cameras plus four lenses - NO flash unless absolutely necessary as a Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer. The whole day was captured live and unstaged - apart from a few minutes of family group photos, which were hilarious as we battled the wind here and there. All part of being a Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer I suppose…

After speeches, Samantha, Dylan and myself headed down to the river for a few more photos….nothing staged, just the newlyweds enjoying the time out and each other‘s company. We shot some lovely images riverside, but curiously both wanted some photos on a digger!! How unexpected and a great, crazy wedding photo to keep from their Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer collection.

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day…

Emotional Father of the Bride

As Samantha & Dylan finished their first dance, it was time for dad to step in for a ‘Daddy Daughter Dance’. Holding back the emotion, Samantha’s Dad did well, holding back the tears as he proudly danced his daughter right round that dance floor, with everyone looking on. A truly beautiful moment, and a great set of images to finish my storytelling of Samantha & Dylan’s specially as their Hobbit Hill Wedding Photographer.
