Manchester City Centre Wedding

Lisa & Lawrence booked me for their Manchester City Wedding as their Manchester Hall Wedding Photographer, having met me at a family wedding a year previously (and booked me during that wedding before the photos had even been delivered!) Wow. That’s trust. But we didn’t need trust. Lisa & Lawerence knew what to expect, and having me on board as their Manchester Hall Wedding Photographer, the day and the photography was going to be good. I do love a good Manchester City wedding - it’s my favourite location to photograph weddings. You can see why - and more of my Manchester Weddings here. This Manchester City wedding was going to be a fun and emotion-filled day. I started the morning at The Midland with Lisa and her daughters. On duty was the ever-lovely and very talented Danielle Horan, a makeup artist I have worked with a few times…and she is brilliant at her job!

Manchester Music Theme Wedding

Lisa & Lawrence are massive music fans, especially the Manchester music scene. Often found sifting through the venial and drinking coffee in Wax & Beans, this is Lawrence’s second home. The theme for their wedding at Manchester Hall was famous Manchester Bands. The wedding guests’ tables were named after bands such as James, Stone Roses, Joy Division, The Smiths etc…with mini album covers as table centres. Talking of music, Lisa & Lawrence had invited the talented Leah B for the day, to play classic songs, plus her own material. Again, Lisa & Lawrence know quality and Leah is worth checking out for your wedding or event.

Brilliant Wedding Speeches

The wedding speeches at this Manchester Hall wedding were brilliant. Lawrence went first and was very funny, a one-man standup show who decided towel out front to sing ‘Sit Down’ by James. Leah rushed in to the room, totally unrehearsed to accompany him. As Lisa jumped up and hugged her new husband and his (erm, lack of) singing abilities, the whole room stood and joined in. 100 guests singing in unison giving this Manchester Hall Wedding Photographer some great images. Next up was best man with a great funny and emotional speech, followed by Lisa’s daughters who spoke as a whole and made everyone cry (well, nearly) with their gorgeous sentiment. Nice one girls!

Documentary wedding photography at Manchester Hall

I loved my day at Manchester Hall. A venue to almost match Manchester Town Hall in terms of interior size…it’s huge! Lisa & Lawrence wanted me to be a documentary style Manchester Hall Wedding Photographer - no posed stuff, just natural, authentic wedding photos with a film’s style. We nailed it.

The Lottery Winners

After the brilliantly funny speeches came the First Dance, starting the evening party off for the guests and this Manchester Hall Wedding Photographer. The cake had probably since collapsed by now anyway, so taking centre stage (literally!) were The Lottery Winners. As I mentioned earlier, Lisa & Lawrence and real music fans and love this band. It was the first time I’d heard them…and they were brilliant! Their first song was a cover of The Smiths “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out” and Lisa & Lawrence hit the dance floor like it was a scene from Pulp Fiction. Awesome! The crowd jumped in Halfway through (yes, crowd!) and danced the night away, giving this Manchester Hall Wedding Photographer some great natural photos.

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day…
